Last Days of Kindergarten (posted by Christine West; 04/20/13)
Last Days Our last day for curriculum will be Thursday, May 16th. We have several projects that we like to complete with our students during the last couple of days, so your child will not have any homework. On Tuesday, May 21st, we will be having a snow cone party in the afternoon as an end of the year treat! This was graciously donated by Chrissy Smith. The kids will have a great time together and will get a chance to visit their new first grade playground! Wednesday will be a day to wrap up and we will be sending everything home with your child on this day. All lost and found items will be taken to the lunchroom. Last Day! Thursday, May 23rd Please bring your child to school at the normal time for field day. **Do NOT send any items with your child on this day. No backpacks, water bottles etc. Water and a snack will be provided for field day. Once we are at the park for field day, we will not be coming back to the classrooms. Please make sure that you put sunscreen on your child for field day. We are not allowed to put it on them so it is best for them to be prepared walking into school. Field day is from 9-12 and then we will have a picnic at the park from 12-1:00. All parents are invited to join us for field day. ALL kindergarten students (including both half-day classes) must be picked up no later than 1:00. ***If the weather does not permit field day to happen, we will have fun activities for the kids at school, but will eat lunch an hour earlier from 11-12. If this happens, you may take your child home at 12:00, but we will be here until 1:00 for pick up.
GREAT WEBSITE DISCOVERY (posted by Jacki Christy; 03/06/13)

A candidate interviewing for a teaching position, told me about a fabulous website: readingbear.org. I just checked it out. You do have to register, but it's free. HAVE FUN!
Phonics: Slides and Videos (posted by Jacki Christy; 08/30/12)
We will try to keep some fun videos and supportive materials available on our main webpage. Please check the download section as well as the link section to help support your kindergartner as they learn the various sounds of our complex alphabet.
The PowerPoint slides work much better if you save them to your computer. They they begin automatically when your child clicks on them.
I am currently revising some slides I made previously, but will not take the time to match them in order to Spalding. So stay tuned! And thanks for your support and encouragement with your new little student!
