The Uniform Resale Annual Sale is July 27 from noon to 3 p.m. in the American Academy Castle Pines gym. Enjoy deeply discounted prices on Dennis uniforms.
Field Day
Order your lunch for Field Day by MAY 10!
Check Friday Folders for the forms or print one from the downloads section on the left of the PTO page. For the Elementary classes, each lunch contains a 100% Pure Beef Hot Dog, Apple Slices, Cookie and Apple Juice for $4.00. Additional hot dogs can be added to meals for $2.00. Middle school will have a BBQ and lunches include a 100% Pure Beef Hot Dog OR 1 Hamburger along with Lays Potato Chips, a Chocolate Chip Cookie and Capri Sun for $4 or $5. Additional hot dogs and hamburgers can be added to meals for $2.00.
Sweetheart Dance Dress Sale
Save Your Dresses for the First Annual American Academy Dress Sale
The PTO and the Sweetheart Dance Committee will be hosting a used dress sale in JANUARY 2014. Please save your gently used party or holiday dresses and/or dress-up shoes. Exact dates will be sent out in the fall, but for now, save your party clothes to donate for the sale. Dresses will be sold for $10 each and shoes will be $5 a pair. This is a great way to “recycle” a favorite, but outgrown, dress and to shop for a “new” dress for the Sweetheart Dance or other special occasion. All items will be accepted as donations. Proceeds from this sale will be used to buy a permanent disco ball for the gym that can be raised and lowered for all school dances. We hope this will become an annual PTO fundraiser to purchase items that can be used for school social functions. Please note that this is different than the uniform sale. Restaurant Night
RESTAURANT DAY!
Our last Restaurant Day for this year will be at Daz Bog, 7298 Lagae Rd., Friday, May 3. It will begin at 8:00 am and continue all day. They have their yogurt back! Hopefully it will finally be warm enough for yogurt! AA will receive 20% back on purchases, so remember to let them know you are from AA.
Box Tops for May
Box Tops Drop-Off Friday May 10th
Friday, May 10th, is our last Box Tops pick up for this school year. Make sure to send in your Box Tops with your child’s homeroom teacher’s name on the baggie. Our current standings are as follows: First place is held by Ms. Heins’ class with 1,103 box tops, second place, Ms. Lusk-Baca’s class with 568 box tops and third palce, Mr. Todd with 496 box tops. Middle school standings are: Ms. DeWine’s class with 423 box tops, Second place Ms. Semered’s class with 420 box tops and in third Ms. Vahling’s class with 127 box tops.
Safeway Re-Loadable Card
Thanks to all who have purchased a Safeway re-loadable gift cards. The new program is under way but we haven't hit our goal of $5,000 in loaded card sales to receive our first payout. From now until April 30th the person who reloads the most will receive a $25 gift card of their choice. Remember, Safeway still allows gift cards to be purchased through the re-loadable program. Safeway reloadable cards are available at the front office. You receive face value on the gift card of $10, payable by either cash or check made payable to AAPTO, and American Academy PTO receives 5%. What easier way to raise money for your school doing what you normally do - groceries, gas and gift card purchases?!?!

WOW! The proceeds from this year's Gala keep growing thanks to our generous American Academy CPN community! Net proceeds are tracking over $109K (!!!).

If you haven’t loaded your King Soopers card lately get it out and reload it. AA earns 5% back on the amount you load. You can load your card using cash, check, debit or credit card. You can reload your card at customer service, checkout aisles, or even in the self-check lane, just let the attendant know and they can load you up! You can use your King Soopers reloadable card to get gas, groceries and coffee at the Starbucks in the King Soopers! Thanks for reloading and earning money for AA.

Where Did the 2011-2012 PTO Money Go?
We would like to THANK YOU for your support of the AAPTO, our school and thus our children!

Thank you for your donations for the Fun Run, Gala, usage of your King Sooper's card, support with last year’s lunch program, donation to the annual Fall Campaign, participation in the brigades programs, purchase of Entertainment Books and participation in Restaurant Nights!

In addition to the First Annual Fun Run which raised $47,149 for all classrooms to have the RC-R sound system, with your generous support the PTO has been able to fund the following items for American Academy:

New Elementary Science Curriculum $30,000
Call for Cash E Library $26,900
New Science Laptops $74,300


The total donation is in addition to the funding for Classroom Support ($13,500 for K-5, SPED, Ability, middle school, specials, and ETIL/Media), the Leadership Program ($3000), Teacher Appreciation and several other programs that the PTO supports for the school. In total, the AAPTO was able to donate more than $250,000 to our school!!

Thank you again for your support of our school through the PTO programs. We couldn’t have done it without you. We look forward to another successful year for our children and our school!

10% Back-to-School Promotion from eScrip and Safeway

It's time to check your Safeway receipts! You just might have earned money that can be redeemed and go to American Academy. If you shopped at Safeway recently and bought participating items there might be some money waiting! Redemption starts September 19th. To redeem, visit the Scrip website and click on "Enter Receipts". To help locate our school, use the School ID: 500002801 or look up by school name. There are two American Academy listed. Please use the code provided in this email.

Box Top / Campbell’s / Tyson A+ Collections

The PTO will be collecting Box Tops, Campbell’s UPCs and Tyson A+ labels on every Dress of Choice Day until the end of the year. The pick up dates will be posted soon!

We’d like to exceed our goal this year and collect at least $3,000 in Box Top!

If you are turning in Campbell’s UPC Codes please clip the UPC label from participating Campell products so American Academy can redeem the points for free merchandise.

Entertainment Books

American Academy is happy to announce the sale of Entertainment Books. Enjoy savings from King Soopers, local merchants, ski tickets and sports tickets. How can you buy one? Books will be available at the front office for a limited time. Cost? $30 for the book that has $16,800 in savings - okay reality is it will pay for itself with around $300 in savings. Have a family member or neighbor that might want one? Go ahead and have them make a check out to AAPTO or pay with cash. American Academy receives $15 per book sold. Save money while helping the school make its fundraising goal.

Green Earth Cleaners-drop off your Green Earth dry cleaning hangers and you’ll help raise money for AA and take one small step towards being green.

Elmer's Glue Sticks and Glue Bottles-Don't throw out your glue sticks! Drop off your empty Elmer's Glue sticks and bottles in the Elmer's Glue Bin in the lobby and AA will receive 2 cents per item.

Mabels Labels-Frustrated on having your child’s sweatshirt leave the house never to return? Worried that if you buy used uniform items that you won’t be able to properly tag your kids items? We have a solution! Mabel Labels is an on-line site where you can purchase custom labels with your child’s name for all variety of items – clothes, shoes, lunch boxes, plastic wear and more.

Click on the Mabel Label link listed below check it out. There is a bonus! Mabel’s Labels will donate 15-20% (depending on the product) of all purchases to our school. Make sure you use the link on the left (for American Academy) to receive appropriate credit.

For clothing we recommend the Tag Mates because they fit on the Dennis tag without covering up the size, you don’t have to iron them and you can label over someone else’s label. For an item that doesn’t have a clothing tag, we recommend the iron-on label.
