Upload Your Pictures
Pictures: We are in need of yearbook photos and would REALLY appreciate it if parents could help us by uploading your own pictures this year. It’s very easy to do, you go to the website and put in the code to register. You will get an email back and then can upload 5 pictures at a time to your grade level folder on the website. Submit candid school photos for consideration in the yearbook. To submit photos to the yearbook staff, go to community.lifetouch.com and register with the following access code: CQTENZ We really want to get every kid in the yearbook several times, so we prefer group pictures. I think the new IPhone pictures will upload, but most other pictures taken on a phone aren’t high enough quality for the yearbook.

Colorado History Museum
We will be going on a field trip to the Colorado History Museum to go along with our Westward Expansion unit. Students will do 1920s homestead chores, Learn the ropes in a 1890s silver mine, Explore a giant floor map of Colorado, Play a trade game in Bent’s Fort, Put up a Plains Indian tipi, Make a LEGO brick cliff dwelling, and Go for a ride in a Ford Model T. Each homeroom will need 4 chaperones to ride the bus and work with a group of students. Permission slips are under downloads and need to be turned in no later than February 14th.
Healthy Snacks
We are already seeing a lot of illnesses in the school! And it’s only September! As you all know, nutrition plays a BIG part in our health and immune system. With that being said, one of the main goals of your AA Health Team is to keep our students and staff HEALTHY! SO…We are starting our Healthy Snack Program on Monday, OCTOBER 1st!! Please send a fruit, veggie or dairy item in for SNACK time. We will be keeping track and we will reward the students that are participating with fun nutrition charms. ***New this year!! The class with the most healthy snacks each month will get to keep our new Healthy Snack Mascot in their room for the month! They can decorate him, add a hat, give him shoes, etc. Do something unique and fun from your class! The following month, the mascot will move on to the next healthiest classroom. ***Attached is a picture of the charms the kids will be collecting. We would LOVE to see ALL the students participate but this is a voluntary program. The classrooms that did this last year saw wonderful results!! It’s amazing how an afternoon can be improved with some carrots or strawberries vs. a bag of Oreos!
Healthy KIDS + Healthy TEACHERS = A REALLY GOOD DAY.
