Ability Grouping Instructor
I grew up in Colorado Springs, and received a B.S. in Health Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1992. I spent 13 years working in clinical settings in the field of ophthalmology. I began subbing at American Academy in 2006 and my life-long desire to teach in a classroom setting was revived. I received my masters degree in elementary education and teaching license in 2009. I live in Lone Tree with my husband, Shawn and our daughters, Joanna (6th), Mollie (1st) and finally, the "comedienne" - Bonnie-Bow, our outrageously loud snoring English bulldog.

Ability Grouping Instructor
I am so excited to be back at American Academy! I taught kindergarten with AA for two years and then took some time off from teaching to move with my husband to Hawaii for his work. I loved island life, but have missed being in the classroom and am thrilled to back! I am originally from Dallas, Texas and graduated in 2004 from Southern Methodist University. My major was in communications and my minor was elementary education. I am a huge sports fan so do not be surprised if your child comes home and has been converted into a little Cowboys or Mavs fan!! I also love being outdoors and with my family. I have a wonderful husband and two dogs at home and we spend a lot of time in the mountains hiking, camping etc.! This will be my first year as an ability grouping teacher and I am so excited to get to know all of my new students!
